India scored 234/4 in their 20 overs, after electing to bat first. Opener Shubman Gill scored his maiden T20I century for India, an unbeaten 124 in 63 balls. Rahul Tripathi scored 44 in 22 balls and Hardik Pandya 30 in 17 balls. Chasing a massive target of 235, New Zealand were all out in the 13th over for just 66 runs. Hardik Pandya took 4 wickets for 16 runs. Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik and Shivam Mavi took 2 wickets each.
The 168 run win by India was the highest against a Test-playing nation. Shubman Gill was named the player of the match, while Hardik Pandya winning the player of the series award.
