Rahul Tripathi scored 44 in 22 balls and Hardik Pandya 30 in 17 balls. Chasing a massive target of 235, New Zealand were all out in the 13th over for just 66 runs. Hardik Pandya took 4 wickets for 16 runs. Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik and Shivam Mavi took 2 wickets each.
The 168 run win by India was the highest against a Test-playing nation. Shubman Gill was named the player of the match, while Hardik Pandya winning the player of the series award.
