The 1st Test of the England tour of New Zealand ended with a massive 267 run win for the guests.

New Zealand won the toss and decided to bowl first. England declared their first innings for 325/9 in 58.1 overs. Ben Duckett scored 84 in 68 balls, Harry Brook scored 89 in 81 balls. Neil Wagner took 4 wickets for 82 runs. Two wickets each for Tim Southee and Scott Kuggeleijn.
New Zealand were all out for 306 runs on the board. Century from wicketkeeper batter Tom Blundell (138). Devon Conway scored 77 runs. Ollie Robinson took 4 wickets for 54 runs. Veteran James Anderson took 3 wickets.
England continued their attacking mode in the second innings with a run rat over 5 runs per over. They managed to score 374 all out with the help of 3 half centuries from Joe Root (57), Harry Brook (54) and Ben Foakes (51). Ollie Pope scored 49 runs in 46 balls. 3 wickets each for Blair Tickner and Michael Bracewell.
Chasing a target of 394, new Zealand were all out for 126 runs in 45.3 overs. Daryl Mitchell scored 57 runs. Four wickets each Stuart Broad and James Anderson. Harry Brook was named player of the match for his two half centuries in the 2 innings (89 & 54).
England leads the 2 match series 1-0. The second Test will start on 24th March in Wellington.
